Construction progress and perfect lighting make for a great afternoon at Original Music Workshop .
Site Maintenance
PINC.US is currently undergoing site maintenance, and much of its content is inaccessible. For the time being, please enjoy the redesigned blog, and check back soon for an updated design.
Original Music Workshop in 1935
This short film documents work at the National Sawdust Co. (now the Original Music Workshop) and the streets of Brooklyn in the 1930's.
Don't Worry, In Two Days Tomorrow Will Be Yesterday
Last night I attended Wolf Prix's lecture, "Don't Worry, In Two Days Tomorrow Will Be Yesterday." There was much to appreciate, but I was particularly drawn to his early work. I love this video of The Blazing Wing. The sound is glitchy, and in German, but you'll get the drift.

Michael Oatman
Michael teaches architecture with me at RPI, I didn't know he made amazing collages like this.
RIP Lou Reed
OMW at Night
I love this light filled, night render of our design for Original Music Workshop.
Chestnut Hill Farm
Today we wandered around Mark and Bettina's Chestnut Hill Farm in Monterey, MA and met some of the locals, including this stunning hen.
Super Bar/ge Logo Options
We're working with our friends at Mogollon on a graphic identity for Super Bar/ge, one of the development projects we're putting together at Arts and Leisure.
Cairo
Cairo is a new series of steel and walnut furniture that explores a recurring hexagonal pattern (see previous post). Elements include large and small display shelving, low cabinets, a credenza, and a room divider.
Recurring Patterns
We've been quite interested in repetitive patterns lately. Here's a nice recurring pattern system composed of – depending on how you see it – irregular, perpendicular hexagons, or rotated and mirrored pentagons.
Rensselaer Architecture Faculty Work
It's nice to see my work included among some very talented architects / educators on the Rensselaer Architecture faculty page.
On Deck
Here's a sneak peek at a new project we're developing (can't say any more than that for the time being).
Exterior Rail Detail at OMW
Here's a nice detail from a site visit at Original Music Workshop yesterday. This is the service-entry ramp rail, made from solid 1/4" plates of steel. It's certainly a case of the fabrication living up to the design intention.
OMW Scaffolding Down
As exterior construction nears completion, the scaffolding has come down at Original Music Workshop.
Top Notch Party House
Is there anywhere better to party?
Kinesthesia Physio on Curbed
Curbed makes note of our design for Kinesthesia Physio at The Whitman: "where Chelsea Clinton might exercise..."
Asymptote Architecture Website
My friends, mentors, and former employers, Asymptote Architecture - Hani Rashid and Lise Anne Couture, have launched a new website featuring tons of new projects and recently built buildings as well as extensive documentation of their previous work.
The Last Days of PINC.US V6
I'm almost ready to retire the current version of my website, one of my favorite site designs to date. PINC.US V7 is in the works and should be up by the end of September. The new site will feature full bleed images and a better project index as well as a bunch of incremental improvements.
